Sno-Isle Libraries Partnership
Oak Harbor Public Schools students have their own Sno-Isle Library Student Account.
The following is the guidelines provided on the Sno-Isle FAQ page, and agreed upon by your school district.
What is a student account?
A student account is a special Sno-Isle Libraries account that allows students to access public library resources using their school lunch number.
Who is eligible for a student account?
Currently, all students in the Oak Harbor and Granite Falls School Districts are eligible for a student account. Sno-Isle Libraries will be offering student accounts to other school districts in its service area in the future.
As a parent can I opt-out for my child?
Yes. Parents and guardians can opt out of the student account program by completing an opt-out form provided by the school district. Parents and guardians may also request to delete
student accounts at any time. Contact your school district to begin this process.
What is my student account number and PIN?
If you’re a student enrolled in the Oak Harbor School District: OH + school lunch number (OH12345)
The default PIN for student accounts is 1234. Students have the option of changing it, however it is recommended they do not.
Will student accounts work in the summer when school is on break?
Yes, they will work year-round as long as your student is enrolled in the participating school district.
How much does a student account cost? Are there fines?
Student accounts are free. There are no overdue fines.
Can I use a student account to access laptops at the library or print remotely?
Yes. Just like a traditional card, a student account number can be used to check out a library laptop. You can also print remotely in black and white or color. For additional information, go to our Computers & Printing page.
What are the borrowing privileges for student accounts?
Student cards can be used to check out 10 physical items (books, CDs, DVDs) and download 30 digital items. They also have access to live, one-on-one homework help, research databases and streaming content.
